Bentonite is a platy clay consisting of the mineral montmorillonite (picture attached). There are two major types of bentonites: Caclium bentonite (non swelling) and Sodium Bentonite (swelling). Montmorillonite have very fine particle size and are highly plastic, strong binders, and exceptional rheological modifiers.
Bentonites are used in ceramics, foundry, iron ore pelletization, cosmetics, etc.
Zigma International currently offers bentonite for three applications:
|State||Crystal, Solid, Liquid, Powdered|
|Packaging Type||Bottle, Drum/Barrel, Packet, Box|
ZigBen processed and activated under tight controls to meet the binding requirements of pelletizing. This particular bentonite is available as lumps and powder can be supplied via trucks or railcars.
This bentonite is used in Iron ore pelletization. Bentonite binds iron ore fines together to product uniformly sized iron ore pellets that further used in pig iron production.
